Amanda O’Brien is a New York based therapist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. She has extensive experience providing individual, family, and group therapy in outpatient, PHP, and IOP levels of care. Amanda completed her Masters in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Florida, with special focus on crisis counseling and supporting international collegiate athletes in their adjustment to life in America. Amanda’s special interest in working with expats led her to Austria, where she provided counseling to international students struggling with their transitions to life in a new country.

Amanda is a culturally competent provider that aims to create a safe, collaborative environment that allows clients to explore their innermost selves. She believes that true growth occurs in the presence of connection, and she hopes to provide the space for her clients to begin exploring who they are, where they’ve come from, and how they hope to grow. Amanda supports her clients in reconnecting with their values, identifying self-destructive cycles, and exploring ways to enhance overall life quality.
