Alethia Davis is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. Alethia received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brooklyn College and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College. Alethia has experience providing individual and group psychotherapy in various levels of care including day treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.
Alethia utilizes evidence-based treatment interventions derived from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which she has used in her work with adolescents and adults with eating and substance use disorders. Additionally, Alethia is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for the treatment of PTSD.
Alethia is committed to providing supportive and compassionate care to her clients, as well as comprehensive treatment to help individuals manage their symptoms and achieve therapeutic goals. She aims to provide a safe space and encourages clients to explore obstacles to recovery from a place of curiosity, as opposed to judgment. Alethia strongly believes that change and recovery are possible, and aims to equip each client with skills to help support recovery and overall wellness.
