Alyssa is a Pre-Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with experience eating disorders across different levels of care. She has a special concentration in working with clients that have Binge Eating Disorder, in addition to Anorexia, Bulimia, and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. She is anti-diet, anti-fitness industry, anti-BMI and considers eating disorders to be a symptom of social injustice.

Alyssa is trauma-informed and has personal experience with systems of anti-fatness. She also has experience and passion for treating those with comorbid disorders such as depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and trauma/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She utilizes a blend of cognitive therapies Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)) as well as somatic and expressive arts therapies (Drama Therapy, Experiential Therapy) and Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MCBT). This allows her to work with the mind as well as the body, creating an understanding and deeper relationship with the self.
