Maia graduated from Stanford University in 2021 with a BA in Political Science. She has previously worked in a variety of nonprofit and public sector jobs, most recently serving as White House Appointee in the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Education. Maia has spent over a decade serving survivors of sexual violence and holds a passion for centering empowerment and agency in any form of recovery and healing. Alongside her work at EDRS, she is working part-time towards a Master’s in social work at Rutgers University where she is working towards becoming a licensed therapist. Maia was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
