Therapist (NY)

Shannon Marhan, LMSW (she/her), is a compassionate and dedicated therapist who brings expertise in eating disorder recovery and body image concerns. She holds a BA from Penn State University, an MA in Clinical Psychology from Montclair State University, and an MSW from New York University.

Shannon’s approach is rooted in creating a warm, welcoming space where clients feel comfortable being their true selves. She believes that healing begins when people feel heard,
respected, and valued. By working together, Shannon helps her clients reconnect with their authentic selves and build sustainable, long-lasting recovery. She integrates evidence-based methods with an understanding of the emotional, social, and cultural challenges that shape one’s relationship with food and body.

Shannon practices from a weight-inclusive and trauma-informed perspective, recognizing the unique needs and experiences each individual brings. She is passionate about guiding individuals toward not just healing from disordered eating, but also rediscovering their strength, cultivating self-compassion, and embracing the freedom to live a more fulfilled life.
