Katherine Stewart is a New York-based therapist with experience working in residential and outpatient treatment for eating disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. Katherine completed her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of San Diego, and her Bachelors in Psychology at Gonzaga University.
Throughout her graduate program, Katherine gained experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in a school-based setting. She also worked as part of a team to provide a holistic approach to treating individuals with eating disorders in one-on-one and group settings at various levels of care. Katherine aims to develop a safe space for clients to process their experiences and build meaningful connections with themselves, others, and their environment. Katherine utilizes cognitive-behavioral theory and acceptance and commitment theory to support clients in identifying automatic thinking, increase coping strategies, and practice self-compassion. Katherine uses a culturally-informed lens, with a welcoming and non-judgmental approach.
